Prospective Students
Eligibility Criteria:
At the time of the award, all scholarship recipients must meet the following criteria:
- Be a US Citizen or permanent resident
- Be enrolled in classes at MSU
- Be of at least Junior class standing
- Have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Be majoring in a physical science or mathematics
- Be willing to commit to teaching in a high-need school district for several years after graduation
How to Apply:
If you choose to apply, you will need to complete a General Scholarship Application form with the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarshps, click here. Once the GSA is completed, an option for “Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship” should appear among the Recommendations list if you meet the stated eligibity requirements. Click on that option to complete the Noyce application. As part of the application, you will be asked to provide:
- Names and contact information of at least two references who are familiar with your academic performance or work history.
- A 500-word essay describing your desire and motivations for teaching, any prior relevant work or service experience, and what you would like to gain from the Noyce program experience.
Candidates may be called in for a short face-to-face interview with the project team prior to selection of awards.
